There is now a path for dCS owners to realise substantial performance improvements from their existing systems. For owners of Scarlatti and (very soon) Paganini systems, there is a firmware upgrade that allows a substantial upgrade in performance to be achieved through use of dual AES transmission of DSD data. This means, for the first time, both SACD and upsampled CD can be transferred from the transport to the DAC by a connection other than firewire.
Whilst this is not Vivaldi on the cheap, with the right cabling, startling improvements in performance can be realised.
